Since 1978 Dalton DeHart has captured distinct and defining images of Houston – its residents, its events, and its essence. One of Houston's most prolific photographers, Dalton shot more than 12,000 rolls of film before moving into the digital camera arena. More and more Dalton spent his precious time managing a growing library of images and trying to fulfill customer requests for prints instead of pursuing the art of photography. Even before our first meeting with Dalton, we began to formulate an internet marketing strategy that would lift a huge burden from his shoulders and satisfy his customers' desire for convenient and secure access to Dalton's enormous library of photographs.
Rockport deployed a two-step Web design plan for Dalton. In Phase 1, our custom Web design specialists created an interactive photo gallery to showcase Dalton’s most recent and compelling images. This marketing Web site (www.daltondehart.com) serves to educate, inform, and visually delight site visitors wanting to learn about Dalton's work. This phase was deployed within 2 to 3 weeks from the initiation date. or initial meeting.
Phase 2 was to integrate Dalton's marketing Web site with an existing “photo fulfillment” service. Through this Internet-based service, Dalton stores and manages his image assets while the browsing public views and orders physical prints from digital files. Rockport analyzed a number of existing services in order to determine the perfect match for Dalton's business. We then integrated the marketing Web site and the photo fulfillment service. To this combined project (100% designed and fulfilled by Rockport Solutions), we added Search Engine Optimization so that the Web site is fully indexed by all major search engines. |
